Each bike basket is a work of art - taking up to three days to weave by hand - and is made from wild Ndiorokh grass. This indigenous grass is hand-rolled before it is ready to be woven by a skilled member of our partner weaving in Senegal.
Most weavers in the Senegal are agricultural workers, though relying on a season’s rainfall makes for unpredictable living. Basket weaving – one of the oldest crafts known to man – has become a source of alterative income for these communities in the dry seasons, helping families to meet their basic living costs more comfortably.

Each bike basket is supplied with two dark brown leather straps.
If your basket gets wet, simply leave it to dry naturally and re-shape. When not in use, we recommend storing somewhere completely dry (and damp proof!)
As each basket is individually handmade, some variation in size and colour may occur.
